Day 19-20-21 30 Paintings/ 30 Days Painting Challenge

Day 19 -  I snapped a couple photos of these two at the Port Aransas beach in December. There were many people there enjoying the sunshine, but this scene captured my heart. It looked to me like a Grandfather and Grandson out to enjoy the day together. This was my second attempt at figures. My intent was to get the information down. I plan on a larger, truer painting later on.

4" x 4" mini, oil

This is one of my favorite wildflowers, the Wild Geranium. I like them so much I once embroidered them on a set of lavender sheets and pillowcases.
"Flowers of the Field"

Day 21 - A scene from on the Niagara River while visiting my sister last fall. The sun was going down behind clouds, casting beautiful colors on the water.

Day 13-14-15 30 Paintings/ 30 Days Painting Challenge

Day 13 - More wonderful wildflowers! I love these bluish beauties!
If they could be transplanted more readily , I would have them in my gardens!
"Ferns and Chicory"
4" x 4" mini

Day 14 - I do indeed "wonder" how long the deep snows will last .
This is a painting of my own barn at my home in PA. I was just a tad bit homesick as I painted this. I love the snow, but my body does not put up with the cold weather very well.
"Winter 'Wonder'- Land"
4" x 4" mini

Day 15 - Sometimes life gets us down.
Then we just need to wait where we're at till the way shows clear.
In the mean time it can feel like this little boat.
"Beached"
4" x 4" mini

Thanks for stopping by!
I enjoy reading your comments if you care to leave one!

Day 5 - Painting Challenge, 30 Paintings / 30 Days

This painting was inspired by an incident on a cold, wet, dreary day recently when I was parked at a truckstop. The office to the campground I wanted to go to was closed. That week, everything that could go wrong had gone wrong. I took Izzy out for a walk along the field of dead grasses. Then I spotted these pretty bright yellow flowers in the midst of all that deadness.
 The sight immediately cheered me.

Beauty of Nature

We are not always aware of the beauty in the most mundane things of life until we slow down enough to really look.  This is not really a wildflower but is a wild grass that grows profusely  in fields and pastures, mostly in the southern states. It is the bane of many farmers and ranchers as it chokes the more nutritive grasses fed on by livestock. I, however, have always liked the almost independent look of the stocks.

I know...... it's been a while.

"Purple Coneflowers"
8"x 10"
These flowers grow in the wild in certain parts of the country, however the ones in the painting grew in my garden, and these are some of my my favorites.
