Painting Practice, a Warm Fall Day

This was supposed to be a practice piece, but I turned it into a full painting. Just could not stop myself  ðŸ˜Š
I really enjoyed doing this piece. It looks like the water goes even further back in than what it shows. Maybe a good place for ducks to hide, feed, or nest. Though the sun is shining, I can feel the crisp fall morning air and it turns my thoughts to hunkering down for the winter with my paints and brushes, a crackling fire and my pup keeping me company. Well, still a month of good days to enjoy outside.....

Biloxi-Gulfport Beach Scene (with artist license :)

 "Tranquility"
10" x 20"

This scene is from a reference photo and a quick painting sketch I did last year on my RV trip. Biloxi MS is where my eldest daughter was born. I wanted to re-visit the beach I used to visit when she was a wee baby. As she loves the water and beaches I decided to do this peaceful scene to hang in her coastal-color theme bedroom.

Last of the Summer Painting

Another trip to Fisherman's Cove yielded about 75% of this painting. The weather was so nice but started to get chilly late afternoon, I brought it home and finished in the studio. At least I think it is finished for now. I'll have to think about it .....

Sunrise Suprise, an Original Oil Painting by Rebecca Jennings

"Early Sunrise Surprise"
8" x 10"
Oil on Canvas Panel

A quick sketch of the pond behind a roadside rest in east Texas. Te sun was just coming up and casting beautiful beams of light on the reeds beside the pond. Birds were singing and ducks were swimming on the far side. I plan to make a larger version of this rendering.

Beach Scene

As I was leaving Mississippi, I wanted to visit the beaches near where my eldest child was born. I was able to park my RV in one of the pull-offs and take a nice long walk, savoring the memories as I wandered. I took several pictures along the way, especially for her. Neither one of us had been there since 1963, the year she was born.
I decided to do a quick sketch painting of the scene. She loves it so much I promised her a large one for their bedroom which is painted a sea-grey and has ocean accents as part of the décor.

First Camping site of Autumn

I love camping at my favorite place in Kentucky and will always stop there on the way through, This is my 4th painting of Energy Lake at Land Between the Lakes. It is just so peaceful there and it has been a good 1st stop to unwind and a last refresher before the final leg of the journey home.

Mini Paintings 30/30 #14

Another mini painting.... I am glad I had these pins to do as I have been arguing with the flu bug the last couple days, and have not been up to doing too much.
