Last of the Hay Harvest - A Plein Air painting

"Last of the Hay Harvest"
8 x 16
Oil on prepared luan
Finished on site

This is a field across from where my son lives. I was intrigued by the contrast of the even flow of the
still-green grass against the early fall colors in the brush and goldenrod in the farther fields. This was done as a study and I may do a larger version.

  1. Lovely, Sunny! Doncha just love those big old hay bales! I do - I have a bunch in our pasture right now - I took some pictures but haven't painted any yet... Great job! Wish I could locate some 1/8" luan around here....

  5. Hi there Sunny!... What a wonderfully bright and uplifting surprise on a damp rainy Fall day here in Rockport... to find "Sunny"... on my blog Follower Forecast!

I really enjoyed visiting and especially liked your hay bales... a "fav" subject of mine and your Lake Wilhelm landscape!

We certainly live in "different" places... paint a bit differently... but many of our interests and values run in parallel... or are exactly the same!

    Good Painting!
    Warmest regards,
    Bruce
