Days of Autumn

Our visit to a Mennonite farm a couple evenings ago inspired the idea for this painting. It was the perfect end to a beautiful sunny day. The air was growing cooler as the rush of the work day was winding down.

"Days of Autumn"
Oil on 10"x 8" panel
The old broom leaning against the porch wall near a bench where they remove their boots before entering the house, seemed to be saying it was ready for it's fall job of sweeping the leaves.

  1. Oh Hi, Sunny - I'm first!

Isn't it just so fun to put down on canvas what is captured in your mind???

Very nice - I love all the autumn colors! And the shadows!

This is exciting to me, too, cuz I can imagine your smile while you're painting!

  4. Oh... is that every cute. I could just see that hanging in someones entry hallway or kitchen. You inspire me! One of these days I'm digging out my paints again. I've done work with acrylics but never with oils. I have a set of oils; but never got into them. Some day ~
