Pea Ridge House of Prayer

This pretty little church is just down the road from us and I pass it everytime I leave to go somewhere. I love the shadows that fall across it in the late morning. The church actually sits right up to the road, and there is a horse pasture bordering it on the left. The members park at the cemetary lot across the road by the church sign.
Oil on 11" x 14" stretched canvas. I have a couple finishing touches to make but it is otherwise done and will be on display in our recently opened Todd County Welcome Center at the old court-house in the town square.

Now..... on to the "Water-Hole". I hope to get it done before knee surgery next week....

  1. Oh, Sunny, this is beautiful! I love little churches like that and you did such a good job with your light and shadows falling across it.

Wish I could carve out some time to do some painting! There are not enough hours in the day right now. We're moving our daughter back to school this weekend, and then beginning some renovations on our bathrooms to get our house ready to sell so we can move out to the farm. My immediate plans for painting don't look very promising right now! EEEEEKKK!!

Guess I'll just enjoy yours right now... sigh...

I know you're dreading knee surgery, but at least you'll have lots of time to paint while you're recuperating! And hopefully, someone to wait on you hand and foot!

  2. What a wonderful, peaceful, looking church. I didn't know about the knee surgery. Have you told that and I just missed it?!!!

  7. Great composition, perspective drawing and cast, cool shadows on the little church Sunny. You should be very proud of that.
